Maybe the base. Looks nice.
Had an undercounter B&D for many years. Will never open a single can with it.
Thought it would a no-brainer that a $20 can opener would function. Plastic piece broke off - the piece that triggers the motor to run.
Will go back to that brand. Heavyweight.
Featherweight lever unit.
I highly recommend this can opener. You also don't have to hold on to the can at all during the opening process and the top mechanics (silver in color) comes off with a push of a button and can be put in the dishwasher. There is also cord storage inside the unit. I have owned this can opener for at least a year, and my mother mentioned they needed a new one and asked for my opinion. Oh, by the way, a few weeks after I bought this for my mom I asked her how she liked it, and she said they liked it better than any other can opener they had ever had. The price is great as is the can opener. I told her I would get her one just like mine and ordered this from Amazon. It is a heavier weight than some, but that helps so that when you open heavy or big cans it never tips over.
You would need to learn how to properly position the can for it to work for you, but that just for the first few times you use it. Be careful not to hold it by the chrome top or the heavy black body may fall off. This has been serving us for over 2 years now. It is actually not a very complex machine at all. We think the price we paid for it is pretty reasonable (less than 20$). We love the strong magnet that holds the top of the can once it is opened. A little heavy which is OK so it does not move while you are opening a can.
Since that the opener buzzes, can't open a can, and tears into the side of the can if you try to help it along. Today a tuna can slipped and didn't engage right and the opener made a buzzing sound. Not good. We had ours about a year and seldom used it.
It was good while itlasted but that was just a bit over 2 years.Too bad. That little plastic gear is junk. It was a nice can opener until thatlittle plastic gear broke in half.Right as I was fixing Thanksgiving Dinner.Good thing I had the old "hand" standby.
